Hydraulics are used extensively in waste reduction vehicles and machinery and the *Fluid Power Conference* has been helping exhibitors and attendees for the past five years learn more about the technology they use. A line-up of basic hydraulic knowledge has been created to help system designers, engineers and technicians learn more about the hydraulics technology used in today’s machinery.

 

Joan Armstrong, a Hydraulic Engineer with FluiDyne and Garry Jansen, Vice President of Veljan will be presenting - Hydraulic Vane Pumps in Waste Truck Applications on day two. Hydraulic vane pumps are used extensively on waste removal vehicles. Joan and Gary will cover Vickers type V10 and V20 medium-pressure pumps used in steering, fan drives, locking and implements; and Veljan high pressure vane pumps used in packing, lifting and implements. They will also discuss the durability and efficiency these pumps offer to waste vehicles as well as common circuitry, repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting tips.

 

Robert (Bob) Sheaf /founder of Certified Fluid Consultants and President of CFC-Solar, Inc/. will present on the remaining topics at this year’s conference. Bob has been directly involved with fluid power for 37 years and has taught fluid power courses for over 29 years. He also holds more than ten different certifications by the International Fluid Power Society.
